Christmas Bell Ringing

Our therapy dog group rings the bells for the Salvation Army the day after Thanksgiving. It has become a tradition and it is so much fun. The Salvation Army tells us that they get the most donations when the dogs ring the bells! We sure attract lots of attention! I took Jenny this year. She has been through the Therapy Dogs International training, but needs 2 more supervised visits before she can earn and wear her vest and heart.

The children love Jenny... she is just the right height for hugs and kisses.

It's not just the children who love Jenny....so does Mr. Blue! He thinks she is totally irresistable!

Dens....big dens!

Today is a cool, crisp morning in Florida...finally!

Here is Mimi doing a little clean up and den maintenance

Here is Jenny who started the den. We have a huge load of sand in the back of the property specifically for filling in dens. It is about time for this one

All directions covered! Whether there are 2 or 7 anatolians together, they will always position themselves so that all of their territory is being watched and protected.

Soaring Spirit Ranch

From time to time we visit 3 of our pups (now ages 5 and 6) who protect the magnificent champion boer goats at Soaring Spirit Ranch near to us in Brooksville, FL. We love visiting them and get lots of hugs and kisses!

Above is Henry and the girls-Sadie, Blossom and Lana.

Jenny's dens

A few days ago I was mowing our puppy pen, when suddenly the ground collapsed beneath me and I found myself deep in a hole. Apparently it was a den which was started in the horse paddock - I had not realized it was so long and so had only partially filled it in. After climbing out, I broke up the earth until I got to the end. As you can see, it was a long tunnel... Jenny must have been the excavator. Then yesterday I put Red and Najene, our 2 titans, out into that paddock and pasture. I saw them run toward the barn and Najene suddenly disappeared and Red was only partially visable. I raced to look and Jenny had been at it again. This time the tunnel was under a stall and was so deep and long I had to stick my arm way into it to get the hoe to find the end. I spent about an hour repacking the tunnel so our horse, Sienna, would not have her stall floor collapse into it. That did happen to her once before... not a pretty sight.

Free Weed...

We have an ad in the local newspaper for our hay. It states that the hay is in round, 4x5 mesh-wrapped bales and is weed free. We had a phone call inquiring about our ad today. I was describing our hay and the caller seemed confused and insisted on talking about the weeds in it. It suddenly occurred to me that his weed was not the same weed that I was talking about! I finally exclaimed,"We are selling hay, not weed"! He replied with a low "Oh" and hung up. Hmmmm, I wonder if the sherrif has thought of advertising "free weed" in the local paper!

CA Dog Law-Losing our Individual Rights

The CA government has passed a mandatory spay neuter ordinance - all dogs must sterilized by age 4 months or pay fees (in other words “REGISTRATION AND TAXES”) of $250 for licensing and $500+ per dog per year to keep them intact. Reputable breeders do not contribute to the mixed breed shelter problem – they will be hurt by this ordinance which requires more and more taxes and big brothers thumb in their lives.

People, WE ARE LOSING OUR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS IN THIS COUNTRY!

The local and State elected officials and judges with their own outrageous agendas are slowly taking our individual rights away from us – they are chipping away, one by one, little by little, so we don’t notice.

Our rights do NOT come from our government – they are *supposed* to come from our Constitution. But look at this:

1) In CA the government can control your thermostat and tell you what the temperature in your house can be! (hope you don’t suffer from hot flashes, ladies)
2) In Golden CO, the government is preventing some people from smoking in their own homes! (I’m not a fan of smoking, but my home is my castle)….
3) We know the many stories of one person deciding they don’t want Christmas in our schools or town squares and the government then mandates that nobody can have Christmas!
4) The Supreme Court upheld eminent domain –so our own property can and IS being seized by the government for whatever they wish to do with it and whoever they wish to give it to (often it is big developers with deep pockets-who is getting rich at the expense of the property owner) – we have lost our private property rights!
5) This morning I heard there may be mandate that fat people can’t be served at McDonalds (if someone wants to eat themselves into oblivion, what they do with their health is their individual right)!
6) And now in places like LA County in CA, the government tells you that you MUST castrate your dogs and they even tell you when you have to do it… or face the consequences. One of the arguments used to pass the mandatory spay/neuter ordinance in Los Angeles was to prohibit ANY new dogs or cats from being born until the shelters were emptied. The folks that want this bill passed include radical extremists who want all family pets eliminated what happened to YOUR individual right to own a pet?! Dont think this will stop in CA.

Our government schools are not teaching history or critical thinking – just politically correct, feel good, socialist hogwash.

C’mon folks! WAKE UP! Stand on your own 2 feet and start paying attention to what is happening around you. Educate yourself and take 5 minutes to write a letter, email or to make a phone call to stop this theft of our constitutional rights.

Think I am overreacting? Think again.
